VICTORIA BABY
UNDER WATER
More than just a nail salon, Victoria Baby is a world of its own. Each salon immerses its followers in a distinct theme. In Jeanne d'Arc, the Victoria Baby salon immerses us in a scuba diving expedition. The aquatic theme has been crafted down to the smallest details.
First, this undulating mirrored stainless steel ceiling gives us the impression of being submerged, as if weightless in the water.
The counter, an important element, brings to mind the bow of a ship moving outward; the various workstations are off-center, creating a fluid movement. The counter is covered with a granite worktop, cut out to accommodate perforated stainless steel extraction grilles.
Certain elements evoke a submarine, such as the "funnels" above each workstation and the copper-toned stainless steel pipes that resemble technical components. The whole area is tiled with small bluish and pearlescent tiles that create interesting reflections and lighting. Above the counter, a copper tube with a luminous sphere illuminates the space and reinforces the submarine concept.
On the other side, the waiting area is tiled in pink, creating a visual break from the rest. The display stand behind it is backlit.
In the pedicure area, a raised platform covered in blue tiles was created to accommodate the various treatments. The seating also gives the impression of sitting in a boat. The angles of the tiles are rounded and curved, demanding a careful tiles layout to achieve smooth look.
As a continuation of these curves, the corners have been rounded, as well as the junction between the wall and the floor. Rounded niches were also created to let sound pass through or to display products.
