NHATBAO HAUS is designed specifically for a young photographer couple. Notably, the owner of this apartment is the son of renowned artist Le Thiet Cuong, who is famous for his minimalist contemporary folk paintings. The apartment’s design features a strong Gallery art element, harmoniously combining traditional and modern aspects, with a free plan and clever use of colors. The young couple has a modern lifestyle, having studied abroad, but they are still influenced by the traditional culture from their father, artist Le Thiet Cuong. Therefore, they want their home both modern and youthful, while still retaining the refinement and depth of traditional culture. The harmony between traditional and modern is clearly expressed through the choice of colors and materials.

FACADE

We were very impressed with the Bauhaus color palette, with basic plain colors, as well as the excellent combination of industrial and modern materials such as concrete and metal. However, GAM decided to adapt this color palette to the traditional Vietnamese style and materials. The basic Bauhaus colors, such as red, yellow, and blue, have been toned down and given the effect of traditional materials such as lacquer or oil paint. Wooden furniture is also painted to show the wood texture, creating a unique beauty. In particular, rattan is used skillfully and sparingly, contributing to enhancing the traditional aspect of the Bauhaus art space.
